That’s not to say that there isn’t good diversity and strategic building- there certainly is, but the game rests on its fundamentals and only gets medium-wonky with items. Unlike Hades, Binding of Isaac, and some others in the genre, you’re not going to end up with ridiculous off-the-wall builds and items that allow you to circumvent the main mechanics in favor of your triple-down bid on lightning chains, or whatever.
